Halloween Week

Halloween is always such a fun time filled with many memories. We started the Friday before with Trick or Treating at Rich's office. We were supposed to be there as soon as we could, it took us a bit longer than expected. We couldn't find the mask to Dixon's Black Spiderman Costume.

After that we went to the ward Annual Truck or Treat and Chili Cook-off. It was fun as always. Lots of great food, the kids costume parade, truck or treating in the parking lot. This year however, we got an added bonus. A few of the more adventurous members of the ward performed the Thriller Dance. My favorite was Hillary who was 5 weeks away from Delivery with her 5th.

The Monday before Halloween we always decorate pumpkins for Family Home Evening. This year I got the boys to actually help get all the pumpkin goop out. We didn't carve Brogan's pumpkin because he was having too much fun with his "ball"

On Halloween the Elementary school has it's Halloween parade and kids class parties. Our wonderful Principal, Dr DeMoss dressed up as Cruella Deville and all the teachers as her Dalmation puppies. There were even dog catchers.

For all of these events, the boys have been getting gobs of candy. Now the real fun begins. We started our evening decorating pumpkins with Luke and his family. Then he and his mom joined us Trick or Treating in our neighborhood. Christopher had a goal to over double his last years load. Dixon always quits early and Christopher wanted to keep going until he dropped.
So we did. Apparently after Rich drug Dixon and Brogan all the way home Dixon told him that all he wanted was to eat one piece of candy then he wanted to head out again. Two meltdowns later Brogan was in bed and Rich and Dixon were watching a movie.

It was the perfect evening, in the 50's. Luke called us to say that he had collected 8 pounds of candy. Christopher's was even heavier, Alex's pile was somewhere in between the two.
It was a great evening!
